That’s-a spicy meat-a ball!

Ok, so yeah, right off the bat, this is definitely not a post about anything Italian – just really like that line (think I heard it the first time around in The Mask) and it just gives me a grin, something desperately needed as yet another Monday rolled past and Tuesday keeps the hum-drum alive.

But! I elect simply to not get bogged down by the “blah” of it all and keep my attention otherwise occupied. Not that its not occupied between work, writing, editing for comicaddicts.com and all the regular life stuff we all have to deal with.

Today however I’m returning to familiar ground – cocktail blogging! A mega-mix of random stuff that covers a variety of intriguing, at times amusing and interesting flavours to give you the reader (and me admittedly). Personally I think randomness is a great thing and stuff like this early on in the week to get your mind out of the mundane gutter – well thats always a good thing!

First up something to amuse the gizmo-hound and technophile within you! I came across this purely by chance and it’s kind of stuck in my mind as a concept – it is a Bento Box. No, not the Japanese snack-pack tray with all the different foods neatly kept for you to eat! This does actually borrow from that concept and bring you a new-age portable computing experience. As you can see from this picture, this is really a wicked idea, all this in one compact laptop/notebook sized case – complete with its own solar-charger. I don’t know about you but its stuff like this that gets the futurist/child in me excited! If you want to see all the images and check out the rest about this, click HERE.

Next! Ok, moving on from the tech side of life, we come to something more amusing! I saw this a while back and kind of marked it as something to come back to because it hearkened back to my childhood and to a simpler time. Also I’ll admit it brought back memories of a time when children’s entertainment was better and less overflowing with mindless drivel!

Granted, everyone believes their generation was better and smarter and blah, blah, blah… but I ask you this: If like me you grew up with stuff like the cartoons we had in the 80s and 90s (even though so many were based around toy-lines), were the cartoons not more creative, imagination igniting and just flat out fun compared to the stuff you see kids (including likely your own) watching today? I mean this is the generation for which Spongebob Squarepants is the best of the lot. I think that says something.

Anyway! Now with all that out of the way, the final part of this post comes as it does for every cocktail post I make… and as always we end with something pleasing to look at because call it what you will, but for me few things are as relaxing and heartening as looking at something beautiful and marveling that such things exist on this world with me…

Folks, I give you Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman! Would you have any qualms putting yourself in her hands? I know I wouldn’t.
