>I have to admit, it amazes me when I look at the world around me – not just in India or any specific country, but in the world in general.
There are signs everywhere of progress and growth and learning and growing as a people and as a race, but somehow there are some things that just don’t change.

It reminds me of this old saying, “The more things change, the more they stay the same.
That well and truly breaks my heart in ways you could not imagine…

You see I’m a history lover and hold the belief that the only real purpose of studying history is to learn about it and resultantly, from it!

Its hilarious that the more we progress and philosophy develops and society and humanity evolve, we seem to be still circling this drain of self destruction. And now in the last couple of years, not only is it not getting better.. ITS GETTING WORSE!

The other day a friend was saying he didn’t want to live in this city and this country anymore. Ordinarily I would have fought and argued, but this time I was at a loss… all the things I love about these places remain still, but there is so much apathy, greed, mistrust, hatred and just pure EVIL that it overshadows all that’s good and worthwhile like an endless ebony cloud.

For the vast majority of these horrors I blame religion, across the board. Be it Islam, Christianity or Hinduism – they are all example of major religions that between them cover a large segment of global population. This applies to minor religions as well and everywhere I go there is some discrimination or negativity or control issues.
Many of them create a fundamentalist fervor that I believe will bring the Mayan Long Count to fruition if left unchecked much longer.
And the saddest thing in all this is that there is a very large number of people in every religion that don’t conform to any such bigotry or hatred, but the ones that do are so violent and angry and noisy that everyone else is afraid to say anything lest they ignite a holy madness!

Something must change and soon.

Ok, on a lighter note, I came across this and thought it was a little gross and thoughtless but I couldnt stop laughing at what kind of idiot would make this!

    >It certainly feels as if the religious fanaticism is getting worse. As we progress, and develop and evolve, we’re constantly being diluted and watered down by the ones who want to be in control. Are you waiting for the December 2012 (Mayan Long Count)? Or is that just an Illuminati urban legend. I’ve been chatting to some ppl bout that during this past week and i’m still exploring some of the theories. Would be fascinating to get your perspective!

    >in my humble opinion a lot of things are getting a lot worse. its a little cliched but ive learned to never discount cliches out of hand – they are cliche for a reason – and every empire eventually falls. todays is akin to one global empire somewhat and I think this is now the buildup, soon there will be a lull to make people complacent before the storm hits. I would have to make a post to talk about my views on the long count but short version is I believe certain ideas it puts out, namely that there is something big coming, the face of everything is going to change – how much it changes and what could be left after that… well thats a matter for some debate! if you want to talk more about this or anything else, feel free to let me know.cheers. 😉
